| Richard
brings over 20 years of executive management experience
that includes having successfully launched and sold a
business. In the mid 1970's he was involved
in the hyper-expansion of Well, Gotshal & Manges, a prominent
international law firm based in New York City. During
his tenure at WG&M, he was in the corporate and antitrust
and trade regulation departments working with many Fortune
500 companies during their expansion. Upon returning to
California he joined the Ball, Hunt, Hart & Brown firm
in Los Angeles and worked with former California Governor,
Edmund G. "Pat" Brown and his corporate clients, including
Occidental Petroleum. It was during this period that Richard
used his investigative and analytical skills to aid in
curtailment of a government investigation of multinational
corporations. He subsequently moved to Sacramento and
founded an innovative business in the legal field that
expanded to 11 offices throughout Northern California
in less than two years. After selling his business, Richard
moved to San Francisco to become senior vice-president
of Liticom Limited, a database management service and
software company for the legal industry. He was in charge
of operations and consulting for the service division
of Liticom where he hired, trained and supervised attorneys
and support staff of Liticom as well as for their law-firm
clients. During his tenure at Liticom, it increased its
revenue ten-fold and expanded its personnel six-fold.
Richard left Liticom to start his own consulting company,
R. Leith & Associates, during which time he has functioned
as general counsel to regional and international corporations
as well as Native-American companies. Additionally, his
involvement in community service has included his chairing
the Economic Development and Social Policy committee for
the San Francisco Mayor's task Force on the Mission District
and as a trustee of the Mission Economic Development Association.
Richard received his A.B., M.A. and J.D. degrees from
University of California at Los Angeles, where he received
the Chancellor's Special Recognition as an Outstanding
Participant in University Community, and where he also
was selected for the UCLA-Alaska Law Review and was its
Senior Article Editor. |
